If you open a copy of this week’s Bookseller you’ll see me staring back at you next to Hannah Gold as we’ve both been picked out as top ten preview titles for January 2027. This is a very new thing for me, probably much less so for Hannah Gold.

A little under a year ago I got a surprise phone call from the Scottish Book Trust to tell me I’d won a New Writers Award.

Last night I put on a jacket and shirt for the first time in a decade and caught a train to London for the Undiscovered Voices launch party.

After 2 months of diligently not telling anyone, I can now announce that I’m one of the 2024 Undiscovered Voices finalists.

The Traitor’s Moon is on the SCBWI Undiscovered Voices longlist. If it makes it through to the final, it will be included in the 2024 anthology.

I’m thrilled to the point of using an exclaimation mark to announce that I’m one of the 2023 Scottish Book Trust New Writer Awardees. I’m looking forward to meeting the other winners and finding out about all the Book Trust can offer.

I’m pleased to announce that The Traitor’s Moon has been longlisted for the Bath Children’s Novel award.

The Cipher Engines has been shortlisted for the Wells Festival Book for Children Competition. Which is nice.
